TOKYOJune 30 (News On Japan) – Starting June 30, Tokyo will tighten regulations on advertising vehicles driving in busy city areas, expanding the rules to vehicles with license plates from countries other than Tokyo.
Previously, Tokyo’s ordinance required advertising vehicles to comply with public order and morality, including measures to reduce the brightness of their lights. However, this regulation only applied to vehicles with Tokyo license plates.
In practice, many advertising vehicles that emitted bright lights carried non-Tokyo license plates. Therefore, Tokyo revised its ordinance in March to ensure that all advertising vehicles, regardless of their license plates, comply with the regulation.
