Caeleb Dressel knows the days of ‘just swimming’ will never return for the seven-time Olympic gold medalist.
But despite the horrific lows that kept him out of the sport for the better part of a year and his admitted uncertainty over whether he will ever be at his best again, the 27-year-old American, once seen as the successor to Michael Phelps, is ready to test himself again at the Paris Olympics.
