David Pastrnak scored 1:54 into overtime as the Boston Bruins defeated the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs 2-1 in Game 7 of their first-round playoff series on Saturday night.
Pastrnak ran up the right flank and scored via the carom of defenseman Hampus Lindholm’s lob from the corner boards, tucking a backhander between the left post and the skate of Toronto goalkeeper Ilya Samsonov, who made 29 saves.
“I thought Pastrnak was dynamic tonight,” Bruins coach Jim Montgomery said. “I thought he had the most time in possession, created shots, took what was available and didn’t force things, which sometimes happens with really gifted attacking players.”
