The shocking gambling scandal surrounding Shohei Ohtani’s former interpreter Ippei Mizuhara, which made headlines around the world earlier this year, is already making its way to television.
Lionsgate Television announced this on Thursday that it is in early development of a scripted series that will follow the story of Ohtani’s rise to fame, his historic $700 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers and the sudden gambling scandal that surrounded him after the shocking revelation that his longtime interpreter and boyfriend Mizuhara allegedly stole nearly $17 million from his bank account pay off gambling debts.
The major entertainment company is behind many popular TV shows such as ‘Mad Men’ and ‘Orange is the New Black’.
