Ten small holes have been punched in the mesh of a huge barrier set up to stop unruly tourists from taking photos of Mount Fuji with a supermarket in the foreground, an official said in Fujikawaguchiko, Japan’s Yamanashi Prefecture.
The barrier was installed a week ago at a popular photo spot in Fujikawaguchiko, where residents had complained about streams of mainly foreign visitors wandering around, committing offenses and breaking traffic rules.
The black mesh screen had served its purpose: dispersing the crowd on a narrow sidewalk across the street from a supermarket, a city official said.
