Japan loses to Brazil in women’s goalball quarterfinals

Japan lost 2-0 to Brazil on Tuesday in the women’s goalball quarterfinals at the Paris Paralympic Games. Brazil will face Turkey in the semifinals on Wednesday.

Japan reached the quarterfinals after winning all three preliminary round matches against Canada, South Korea and France in Pool D.

Goalball is a fast-paced team sport for the visually impaired. Players follow the movement of the ball on the field by listening to the sound of bells in it.
