TOKYOMay 23 (News On Japan) – Mercari, the operator of a popular flea market app, has launched a new feature that allows users to list items for sale without first setting a price. Starting May 23, Mercari’s new feature allows sellers to list items without setting a price in advance. Instead, they can later set a price based on offers from potential buyers.
According to previous studies, about 60% of users find it difficult to set a price at the time of posting an ad. Mercari aims to address the challenges users face in setting prices and negotiating during the listing process, hoping to attract more users with this new feature.
Mercari Product Core Team Director, Yasuo Hishii, said: “There are users who believe that an item may have value, but find it difficult to research its value. We hope they will try to list these items on Mercari and get them to pass it on to someone who needs it.”
