TOKYOApril 22 (News On Japan) – The “V-Point” service, now Japan’s largest points-based loyalty program, officially launched on Monday and has about 150 million members.
This new V-Point initiative is the result of the merger between Mitsui Sumitomo Financial Group’s V-Point and Culture Convenience Club’s T-Point program, which manages Tsutaya stores, among others.
Its combined membership is over 150 million, making it the largest points program in the country. V-Point collects points through transactions with the globally accepted Visa credit card, which is supported by more than 100 million merchants worldwide. It also integrates with financial apps from entities like Mitsui Sumitomo Bank.
As online shopping and cashless payments continue to increase, competition to secure customer loyalty through points programs is heating up.
